April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) started her journey in music in the 7th grade in which she began guitar and piano lessons. at the age of 12, April composed her first single Different. As April approached 14 years old, she dedicated long hours making song concepts and perfecting her music. After a while, she began to travel with her dad and write in NY as well as LA. April also began incorporating additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. Her disability is a part of her persona, however it's not the entire image. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not ignore her status as disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. It's a message. The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identities and physical selves are not all that they seem. Lockhart has stated on video that she doesn't wish to be defined by her physical disability. She doesn't want to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are many aspects of Lockhart. But it does not affect my daily life. I do the things I normally would and have adapted to my disabilities. This is a major element of my life and it's imperative that we talk about the subject. Lockhart has served as an excellent example to other women with regards to acceptance of oneself. She admits that she has had periods where she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which displayed her arms. She wears what she likes and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. Self-love, according to her, is like a journey. "I believe that you'll ever get there," she said. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. I think it's important to surround yourself with those who can identify and feel your heart.
